Amy Bowman

Executive Director

Amy Bowman

Amy Bowman grew up in the Atlanta, Georgia area before moving to Greeneville, Tennessee in 1993. She married her husband, Andy, a Greeneville native in 1996. Amy and Andy have two adult children and two grandsons. Amy is an avid reader of books and enjoys birdwatching.
Amy formerly worked as Project Manager and Investigator for a non-profit organization.
Amy’s involvement with the Greeneville-Greene County Humane Society began in 2003 when she became a Board Member. In 2004, because of her love and concern for homeless dogs and cats, Amy made the decision to switch careers and became employed at the Humane Society’s Adoption Center.
Throughout Amy’s career with the Greeneville-Greene County Humane Society, she has focused on implementing programs, including educational programs, to help reduce the overpopulation and mistreatment of unwanted dogs and cats in Greene County.
As Executive Director, Amy strives to make a real difference in the lives of animals in the community.
Amy and her husband live with three dogs and two cats, all adopted from the Greeneville-Greene County Humane Society.

Jamie Greene grew up in Greeneville, Tennessee. She graduated from Walters State Community College in 2018 with an Associate Degree in Psychology. In her free time, Jamie enjoys photography, painting, and playing video games.

Jamie's love for animals began in childhood, inspired by camping trips with her father and their dog, Stormy. She also spent many weekends volunteering at the shelter alongside her mother. These early experiences sparked a lifelong passion for animal welfare.

Before joining our team, Jamie worked at Food City for approximately 10 years. She began as a cashier and worked her way up to Designated Assistant Manager, gaining valuable experience in leadership.

Today, as assistant Shelter Manager, Jamie assists the Shelter Manager, ensuring the daily operations run smoothly, and helps run the shelter's Facebook and Instagram pages. She is especially passionate about helping homeless pets find loving, "furever" homes.
